Of course, I don't expect people in the show to speak Italian... I can suspend my disbelief enough to watch people speak English while pretending to be Italian. I can even tolerate the random use of Italian words like "signor", even though they are completely unnecessary, since we already know the characters are actually speaking in Italian, even though the actors speak English.

But... is it too much to ask that they at least pronounce historical names correctly?

This week, since the Football World Cup is near, I chose the official song from the Italy 1990 FIFA World Cup. It's called "Un'Estate Italiana" ("An Italian Summer", composed by Giorgio Moroder and performed by Edoardo Bennato and Gianna Nannini:
